Module 1

Welcome to your FREE eCourse, Get Your Website Ready for Affiliates Fast. In this lesson, we will talk about How to Create a Freebie that Your Audience Will Love so Much that They’ll Become  Lifelong Customers.

It may seem counterintuitive, but in order to monetize your blog, the first thing you’ll want to start with is a compelling freebie—something free that your audience can receive from you in exchange for their name and email address. It’s not enough these days to ask people to subscribe to your blog. Spam runs rampant, and in order to gain the privilege of emailing your target audience on a regular basis without them unsubscribing from your list, you want to hook them with something free, easy, and useful so that they look forward to receiving emails from you.

What are good examples of freebies? It depends on your audience, but consider creating a great checklist, report, or eCourse that speaks directly to what your audience wants, and as a result, needs.

Start by brainstorming the title of your freebie and envisioning which audience it would reach. You may have spent some time thinking about what your ideal listeners need. What do they worry about? What keeps them up at night?

Next, you’ll want to set up an autoresponder to automatically deliver your freebie to your audience. Examples of autoresponders are MailChimp, AWeber, and 1ShoppingCart. Autoresponders range in price. You’ll want to choose the best one for your budget and business. You can start with MailChimp for free, but after 2,000 subscribers, you’ll have to upgrade. Keep in mind, you’ll want to choose an autoresponder that can support the growth of your business, because it is a pain to import existing contacts into another platform if you outgrow your current one. Many autoresponders, upon transferring contacts, require a double opt-in, meaning that your subscribers must confirm they want to receive email from you before they ever get the first email message from you.

I use AWeber, which is one of the most reputable autoresponders, but it is not free to start with. I pay around $49 every three months for AWeber. 1ShoppingCart is a three-in-one solution and offers an autoresponder, shopping cart, and affiliate platform for around $99 per month. It is great for a mid-size to large business and saves you the trouble of having to buy each platform separately.

You may want to consider hiring a Virtual Assistant (VA) to set up your autoresponder if you are not tech savvy or do not have the time to set it up yourself. If you need help, please feel free to hit reply and we can chat about how I can help get you started.

Have a wonderful day!
